The City Departments of Planning and Public Works is holding the public hearing to obtain public comment on the proposed relocation of the cemetery. Pursuant to the City’s construction of Princess Anne Plaza North London Bridge Creek Pump Station Project (CIP#PG100517) to alleviate flooding, it is proposed that all remains and associated funerary objects be archeologically disinterred, with all due care and respect, and relocated to another cemetery in the vicinity.

Members of the public are invited to Building 33, 2509 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23456, to view a copy of the complete application to the Department of Historic Resources (DHR) Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The complete application can also be viewed and copied at the DHR office (2801 Kensington Avenue, Richmond, VA 23221) or on its website, dhr.virginia.gov, and you may request a public meeting be held by DHR.
