Senior Housing & Resource Guide Updated and Available Online

The Senior Housing and Resources Guide is intended to help connect our older residents to a variety of resources in the community and from the City of Virginia Beach. Compiled and updated by the Mayor’s Commission on Aging (MCOA), it contains information on housing options such as independent and assisted living communities, topics including downsizing, retirement and senior rights, and pertinent City services.

The guide is available to download online, or residents also can pick up a copy at Virginia Beach Public Library branches. Limited quantities are available. The most recent edition has been updated as of May and distributed to attendees of the MCOA’s 2024 Senior Showcase.

It is the City’s intention to provide an up-to-date and accurate listing of available resources. Senior Showcase

The Mayor’s Commission on Aging annually hosts the Senior Showcase. This event caters to our elderly residents, providing information for seniors, families and caregivers, resources on City services, advice and tips on independent living, senior safety and more.

The 2024 Senior Showcase was held May 29 at the Princess Anne Recreation Center. Stay tuned for information on next year’s event.
