Professional Development Opportunity for Early Childhood and Elementary Educators Coming in August
A free, one-day workshop offers research-based tools to strengthen classroom culture and support social-emotional learning.
Creating safe, connected and emotionally supportive classrooms starts with empowered educators. On Aug. 20, early childhood professionals in Virginia Beach will have the opportunity to gain tools that make a measurable difference during the Early Educator Professional Development — Conscious Discipline training at the Meyera E. Oberndorf Central Library auditorium.
Conscious Discipline
Conscious Discipline is a nationally recognized, research-based model that helps educators understand behavior through brain development and respond with connection, skill-building and intention.
The full-day workshop supports teachers in developing their own self-regulation skills while learning practical strategies to foster social-emotional growth in children.
Participants will learn to:
- Understand behavior through the lens of brain development
- Strengthen self-regulation and resilience
- Build classroom environments rooted in safety and connection
- Integrate social-emotional learning into daily routines
Virginia Beach GrowSmart and Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation partnered to make this professional development opportunity free for participants.
Only 90 spots are available to the public. Space is limited, so educators are encouraged to reserve their spot as soon as possible.
