Councilmembers Henley and Taylor to Host Meetings Next Week

Councilmember Henley’s monthly meeting is March 28 and Councilmember Taylor will host an aging summit March 29.

Councilmembers Barbara Henley and Chris Taylor invite the public to attend their community meetings next week.

Councilmember Henley will host her monthly District 2 community meeting from 5:15-7 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, in Building 19 at the Municipal Center. Her monthly meetings are held to update residents on current City projects and issues. Residents will have an opportunity to meet and build relationships with other members of the district, engage and participate in the conversation and have their questions addressed.​

Councilmember Taylor is hosting a Summit 55+ community meeting to discuss issues facing senior residents as well as City programs and services that are available. The meeting will be 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 29, at the Meyera E. Oberndorf Central Library Auditorium.  Special guests include Mayor Bobby Dyer and Councilmember Barbara Henley.

The Mayor's Commission on Aging and the Senior Resource Center will give presentations. Additional topics will include real estate and personal property tax relief for seniors or disabled residents and disabled veterans, senior safety awareness, and adult and aging services. Light refreshments will be provided courtesy of Councilmember Taylor. No public funds used for refreshments.

Both meetings are free and open to the public.
