City Council Members Hosting Community Events in December
Councilmembers Henley and Schulman will host meetings for their districts.
Councilmembers Barbara Henley and Joash Schulman invite the public to attend their upcoming district community events.
On Monday, Dec. 1, Councilmember Henley will host a District 2 neighborhood leaders and residents discussion that will focus on the unique size and characteristics of District 2 compared to the rest of the city under the 10-1 election system. All residents are invited to attend and contribute to the conversation with District 2 neighborhood leadership. It will be 5:30-7:30 p.m. in Building 19 at the Municipal Center.
Councilmember Schulman also will host a District 9 community meeting on Dec. 1 to update residents on current city projects and issues. Topics of discussion include the citywide benefits of tourism and what it brings to our overall economy, new cultural arts funding and related grant programs and pedestrian/bike connectivity improvements currently underway in the district. The meeting is 6-8 p.m. at Bayside Recreation Center.
In addition, Councilmember Henley is holding her last monthly District 2 community meeting for the year from 5:15-7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 4, in Building 19. Residents will have an opportunity to meet and build relationships with other members of the district, engage and participate in the conversation and have their questions addressed. The meeting is typically held the fourth Thursday of each month except for November and December due to the holidays.
All events are free and open to the public.
