Teen Minute Challenges and Party Games — Valentine's Edition
Feb. 11, 3:30-5 p.m., Meyera E. Oberndorf Central Library, 4100 Virginia Beach Blvd.
Looking for Valentine’s Day-themed fun? Virginia Beach Public Library is hosting mini challenges and party games for teens at the Central Library to get them and their friends moving and laughing. The event is open to teens ages 14-18, and registration is required.

Forever Young Valentine’s Day Parties

Adults ages 55 and older are invited to join Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation in a variety of fun activities in the spirit of Valentine’s Day. Forever Young friends will be celebrating a day of love and fellowship with entertainment, arts and craft, games and breakfast. Price: $150 per person
Celebrate this romantic day surrounded by a picturesque atmosphere sure to impress your valentine. This all-inclusive evening comes with gourmet food stations and an open bar, while you wander past sea turtles, sharks, rays and more. Keep the tides high with this memorable date night experience with keeper talks and unique science stations. Enjoy a traveling meal, stopping for each course at a different exhibit. This event is for ages 21 and up, and identification will be checked at the door.
Event proceeds support the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center Foundation to provide quality care for the Aquarium’s animals, offer educational programs, conduct research and conservation work, and operate the nationally recognized Stranding Response Program.
Astronomy 101 — Valentines in the Sky
Feb. 25, 7-8:30 p.m., Kempsville Recreation Center, 800 Monmouth Lane
Price: $5 (open to the public with advance registration)
Fascinated by the different galaxies and stars? Amateur astronomers love objects in the sky. Kempsville Recreation Center is partnering with the Back Bay Amateur Astronomers Club to provide residents with a fun and interactive introductory series on the wonders above. There are two parts to each session: an in-class instructional discussion, followed by a stroll outside to look up and see the night skies through telescopes provided (weather permitting). Participants under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult. The event is open to the public, but registration is required.
