Creating External Content for the City?
If your solution involves an external outlet (such as a website, app, or other communication channel) accessible to the public, it must adhere to WCAG 2.1 AA Standards.
The City of Virginia Beach requires all communication materials (power points, flyers, reports, etc.) to meet ADA requirements that are publicly shown as part of public meetings or uploaded digitally to the website for transparency purposes. Vendors who are awarded contracts with the City of Virginia Beach, or guests who present in public meetings, are encouraged to self-train to acquire accessibility skills for document compliance. Documents that do not meet ADA standards will be returned to the vendor until accessibility requirements are met prior to presenting or publishing.
