Mayor's Commission on Aging
Serves to assist the mayor in planning actions and programs to meet the needs and concerns of seniors in Virginia Beach.
Goals

​Review the nature and priorities of needed services necessary for seniors.

Work with other agencies, committees, and commissions throughout the region who address these same issues.

Provide public information, as well as legislative and educational efforts.

Represent the Mayor's Office throughout the community, as directed by the mayor.

Assist in identifying and defining the needs of seniors.
Senior Housing and Resource Guide
The Mayor's Commission on Aging compiles information for the Senior Housing & Resource guide to help connect residents to a variety of resources in the community. The latest edition is up to date as of May 2026.
Senior Showcase
The Mayor's Commission on Aging annually hosts the Senior Showcase in the spring. This event caters to our elderly residents, providing information for seniors, families and caregivers, resources on City services, advice and tips on independent living and more.
