Windsor Woods Area Library to Close for Renovation on Monday, Jan. 25

Beginning Monday, Jan. 25, the Windsor Woods Area Library branch of Virginia Beach Public Library (VBPL) will close for renovation. During the closure, which is expected to be several months, no services will be offered at the branch, and the book drop will be closed. Lobby service for holds pickups will be offered at the branch through Saturday, Jan. 23. Customers will be able to pick up holds at Central Library beginning Monday, Jan. 25, and they may also select other branches for pickup when placing new holds. Renovations at the Windsor Woods branch include a new study room, updated teen area, new furniture, updated storage room and loading dock, and a new roof for the staff entrance. The project marks the second phase of a $5.8 million Capital Improvement Program (CIP) to renovate eight of VBPL's 10 library locations. All libraries except the Wahab Public Law Library (updated in 2018) and the TCC/City Joint-Use Library (built in 2013) are being updated. Great Neck and Oceanfront branch renovations are expected to begin later in 2021.
