Virtual Bank On Hampton Roads Classes Begin Sept. 11
The next round of free Bank On financial empowerment classes begins on Sept. 11. Bank On Hampton Roads is a regional partnership that is coordinated through the Virginia Beach Department of Human Services, and includes participating municipalities, banks, credit unions and community organizations designed to connect unbanked and under-banked families to free or low-cost bank accounts and other resources leading to financial freedom.
Throughout the program, attendees will be presented with the skills needed to achieve greater financial freedom and independence. Participants in the five-month program are expected to attend one virtual class per month and work one-on-one with a personal financial coach. In addition to learning the basics of banking and money management, participants will learn strategies to overcome paycheck-to-paycheck living, reduce debt, increase savings, build a credit score and protect assets.
Classes will meet virtually for the entire five-month course. Participants can choose from one of the following options that best fits their schedule:
|9:30 – 11:30 a.m.||Second Saturday of the month||Sept. 11|
|6 – 8 p.m.||Second Tuesday of the month||Sept. 14|
|6 – 8 p.m.||Third Thursday of the month||Sept. 16|
