Virginia Beach Housing & Neighborhood Preservation Fully Reopening to the Public on July 6

Virginia Beach Housing & Neighborhood Preservation's main office and some services at the Housing Resource Center (HRC) have been open for limited in-person services since April. Beginning July 6, the department's offices will fully reopen to the public, as follows:

Main Office (Rental Housing, Housing Development and Code Enforcement Divisions)
Municipal Center – Building 18A
Open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for:

  • Walk-ins and appointments for consultation and referrals
  • Client applications and document drop-off

Virginia Beach Housing Resource Center, 104 N. Witchduck Road

  • Homeless Services walk-ins and phone calls for triage and screening available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 8 a.m. to noon; closed Wednesdays for staff training and case management
  • Day Services for unsheltered adults available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 7 to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 to 3 p.m.; Wednesday, 7 to 11:30 a.m.
  • Health Center doctor on site Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; support staff will provide triage Tuesday and Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Walk-ins allowed but appointments are encouraged. Call 757-385-2437 to schedule an appointment.
  • Human Services at the HRC available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Although the department will be fully reopened to the public, residents are encouraged to connect with the department and access services electronically whenever possible:

  • Register a code complaint online or by calling 757-385-4421
  • Families and individuals experiencing homelessness or in imminent danger of losing their home should call the Regional Housing Crisis Hotline, 757-227-5932, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. The hotline is the starting point for connecting with homeless services and community resources. Please note that calling the hotline does not guarantee assistance, since shelter, housing and other resources are prioritized for the most vulnerable people experiencing homelessness or a housing crisis in Virginia Beach.
