Virginia Beach Housing and Neighborhood Preservation invites the community to join the City, Virginia Beach Human Rights Commission and our partners, as we pause and reflect on the longest night of the year to commemorate the lives of the men and women who have died homeless. A pre-recorded memorial service will be posted on Facebook and YouTube on National Homeless Persons' Memorial Day, Monday, Dec. 21, at 6 p.m."Housing is a basic human right for all. While we can't be together to hold vigil for our homeless neighbors we have lost, we hope the community will take a moment to honor their lives and all those who continue to face the challenges of homelessness every day," said Mark Stevens, Virginia Beach Human Rights Commissioner and executive director of StandUp for Kids.# # #
