VBPD Seeking Assistance to Identify Bank Robbery Suspect

​Virginia Beach, Va - On June 14, 2021 at 9:23 a.m. Virginia Beach Emergency Communications (VBECCS) received a report that a man had just robbed the Sun Trust Bank, located at 711 First Colonial Road.

The preliminary investigation has revealed the suspect entered the bank, displayed a handgun to an employee and demanded cash. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency, the suspect left the bank and ultimately fled in a vehicle that was waiting nearby. There were no injuries reported during this incident.

The suspect is described to be a black male, approximately 6'1 with a slim build and facial hair. He was wearing dark colored shorts, a short sleeved shirt and has visible arm tattoos.
