Upgraded annual membership now includes group fitness classes for one low price
June 30, 2021

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Starting July 1, 2021, Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation is launching changes to its recreation center membership options. To streamline offerings, adult members will pay an annual rate of $110 (Virginia Beach residents) which will include group fitness classes and drop-in childcare. Children ages 3 and up may join for $40 per year. Additionally, there is a 30-day membership option for those who don't want an annual commitment. Day passes are also available again beginning July 1.

Previously, annual memberships did not include group fitness or drop-in childcare, which required an additional fee or a more costly membership level. The changes to the membership structure will offer residents greater access to fitness options at a very affordable price and include childcare for parents and grandparents finding time to focus on their health.

Recreation centers offer reduced fees for those who qualify, along with payment plans. Seniors who are group retirees or part of a Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, or American Specialty Health plan, may be eligible for a no-cost membership through SilverSneakers, Silver & Fit, or Renew Active.

Virginia Beach has seven, unique recreation center locations offering indoor pools, gymnasiums, state of the art weight rooms, and most importantly – a community-oriented, supportive environment focused on total wellness for residents. Non-resident rates are also available.
