VB Public Works Announces Temporary Street Closure Beginning Monday for Road Project

​VB Public Works Announces Temporary Street Closure Beginning Monday for Road Project VB Public Works has announced that beginning Monday, May 18, 2020, a portion of 50th Street will be closed to through traffic during the day between Myrtle Avenue and 51st Street for a drainage improvement project. Traffic will be re-routed onto 51st Street. Work hours will be from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. The project involves replacing the drainage culverts that cross 50th Street with new pipes that will improve storm drainage flow in the area. In order to install the pipe safely, this section of road must be temporarily closed to through traffic. Drivers are asked to please proceed slowly through the work zone as directed by field personnel. Residents that reside within the construction area will still have access to their driveways, Mail and trash pick-up service should continue as normal. Virginia Paving Company is the contractor for the project which is scheduled to be completed by mid-June. All work is weather permitting.
