Utility Work Resulting in Road Closures Starting Tomorrow

​Starting at 6:30 a.m. tomorrow, May 1, an emergency sanitary sewer repair will result in the closure of a portion of Constitution Drive. To safely facilitate this work, southbound Constitution Drive between Columbus Street and Carapace Lane will be closed. Warning signs will be posted advising motorists of the utility work. Area residents will have access to their properties at all times. This work is expected to be completed by 5 p.m. the same day, weather permitting. For more information, contact Curtis Blunt with Virginia Beach Public Utilities at (757) 617-5346.Starting at 8 p.m. tomorrow, May 1, utility work will result in the closure of the middle and outside lanes of northbound South Military Highway near the intersection of Indian River Road. The right-turn lane from westbound Indian River Road onto northbound South Military Highway and one left-turn lane from eastbound Indian River Road onto northbound South Military Highway will also be closed, however, motorists will be provided an alternative access to make a turn. Warning signs will be posted advising motorists of the utility work. Area residents will have access to their properties at all times.
