Teamwork and Attentiveness by Officers Result in Quick Apprehension of Robbery Suspects
On January 31st at 9:10 pm, there was a report of an armed robbery in the 1600 block of Hiawatha Drive.The victims had been sitting at home awaiting a meal delivery service. When their door was opened, two armed suspects forced their way in and demanded money and property from the victims. Responding officers quickly obtained suspect and vehicle descriptions and relayed that information to other officers. A vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle was observed a short time later, driving recklessly in another precinct. A traffic stop was conducted, and the two female occupants of the vehicle matched the description of the suspects. Evidence was recovered; to include the pictured firearms. The suspects, 23-year-old Tania Breona Tipton and 19-year-old Alayzia Michelle Richardson were arrested at 9:51 pm and charged with Robbery, use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony and Conspiracy to Commit a Felony.Teamwork and attentiveness; across precincts, enabled officers to promptly remove weapons from the street that had just been used during the commission of a crime.
