Single Vehicle Fatal Crash - 4100 Block Dam Neck Road

​VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – On June 16, 2021 at approximately 8:40 p.m. Virginia Beach Emergency Communications (VBECCS) received a report of a single vehicle crash off the roadway in the 4100 block of Dam Neck Road.

Responding officers located a single occupant in the driver's seat of the vehicle, who was pronounced deceased on scene.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the driver was travelling north on a private drive when the vehicle struck a metal gate, causing it to go off the roadway and enter the wooded area, where the vehicle struck a tree.

The decedent has been identified as 78-year-old Ruth Anne Harley.
