Juvenile Charged with Firearm Violations After Shooting on Brendle Court

​On January 20th, 2020 at 1:40 am Virginia Beach Emergency Communications received a report that someone had been shot in the 1500 block of Brendle Court.Officers arrived on scene and located an adult female victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.The preliminary investigation revealed that all parties involved reside in the same household. A teenaged juvenile was handling a loaded firearm and he accidentally fired it, striking the victim. The victim was transported to a local hospital by EMS with life-threatening injuries. The teenaged juvenile was taken into custody and has been charged with reckless handling of a firearm, obstruction of justice and underage possession of a firearm.MPO Linda J KuehnVirginia Beach Police Department / Public Affairs Officer
