COVID-19 Test Kits Available at most Virginia Beach Public Library Branches
Virginia Beach Public Library (VBPL) has partnered with the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) to distribute at-home COVID-19 tests. The initiative is part of VDH's STACC program to leverage libraries as trusted community resources to increase access to testing in Virginia.
VDH-supplied ACON Flowflex COVID-19 Antigen Home Tests are available now at service desks and drive-up windows at all VBPL branches except Great Neck, which is closed for renovations. No library card or identification is required.
Distribution is limited to two kits per person, first come, first served, while supplies last. Library staff members are unable to hold or reserve kits for anyone.
Residents with COVID-19 symptoms should ask someone else to pick up the tests for them or visit a VBPL drive-up window at the Bayside, Oceanfront, or Princess Anne branches for contactless pickup.
COVID-19 tests may not be taken in the library. Residents should complete the test at home, following the manufacturer's guidelines. Results are available in about 15 minutes. Residents should contact their healthcare providers or the Virginia Beach Health Department with questions about test results. For more information, please visit VDH's Protect Your Health- Isolation and Quarantine webpage.
Visit VBPL's website for details about COVID-19 test kit availability in libraries, or call 757-385-0150.
