City Announces Cancellation of Events Through July 5

​To comply with Governor Northam's executive orders and help keep Virginia Beach safe in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, the following 2020 events have been canceled: Fourth of July Fireworks at both the Oceanfront and Mount Trashmore Park locationsMount Trashmore Summer Carnival, which was scheduled to take place May 29-June 23Party at the Pier, sponsored by Siebert Realty, which was scheduled for June 19 at Little Island Park and Fishing PierDuring Forward Virginia Phase II reopenings, which may be in place as long as we continue to make progress on reducing the spread of the virus, crowds are limited to no more than 50 people."We are disappointed that these signature events must be canceled this year," said Mayor Robert M. "Bobby" Dyer. "However, the health and safety of people who live, work and play in Virginia Beach is a top priority.
