Arrest Made in Double Homicide
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – On October 28, 2021, at 11:01 p.m., Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) officers responded to Club Allure, 470 Newtown Road, for both a ShotSpotter alert activation and 911 calls reporting a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located two male victims suffering from gunshot wounds who were ultimately pronounced deceased by EMS personnel. The preliminary investigation indicates a verbal dispute started inside the establishment and escalated in the parking lot when the suspect retrieved a firearm from a vehicle and shot both victims.
VBPD Detective Bureau personnel were able to identify a suspect who was located in the 5700 block of Greenwich Road and taken into custody by Warrant/Fugitive Squad and SWAT personnel. Trayvon Anthony Mccoy, a 27-year-old from Norfolk, Virginia, has been charged with two counts of 2nd Degree Murder, two counts of Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. He is currently being held in the Virginia Beach City Jail.
The victims have been identified as 38-year-old William Moore and 33-year-old Joseph Moore, both of Norfolk, Virginia.
