The City of Virginia Beach offers a variety of programs to provide convenient parking.
- Overnight Parking - Resort area municipal parking garages offer overnight parking for hotel guests with multiple vehicles.
- Oversized Vehicle Parking - Available for visitors with large buses, RVs, or trailers.
- Monthly Parking Spaces - Frequent parkers can buy dedicated or non dedicated parking spaces at all municipal parking garages.
- Resort Employee Parking - Employees eligible for an RPP business permit are allowed to park Monday - Thursday at 31st Street Garage, 9th Street Garage, 25th Street Garage, and 4th Street Lot
The City of Virginia Beach offers a variety of parking discounts.
- Virginia Beach Resident Rate - With proof of Virginia Beach residency, pay $3 after 5 p.m. every day at all Resort Area lots and garages.
- Monthly Parking Space - Pay $50 a month for a nondedicated parking space.
- Monthly Reserved Parking Space - Pay $100 a month for a dedicated parking space at Resort Area municipal parking garages.
- Surface Lot Seasonal Pass - Offered at a discount ($80 annually) for Resort Area municipal surface lots including 19th Street North & South, 4th Street, 2nd Street, Rudee Loop, and Croatan.
- The vehicle license plate number registered to the pass will be the seasonal pass. No physical pass will be mailed.
- Only one license plate number can be used for each permit purchased.
- Sandbridge Seasonal Pass - Offered at Sandbridge locations for $60 annually.

- Free Parking - Allowed on streets in neighborhoods surrounding the Resort Area from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Free parking is also available at some on-street locations that don’t have meters and that aren’t covered by Residential Parking Permits.
- Handicap Parking - Free for the first four hours in all metered street spaces.
- Off-season Metered Parking - Free at on-street spaces from Nov. 1 to March 31.
- Off-season Surface Lot Parking - Free at all municipal parking lots from Nov. 1 to March 31.

Monthly Parking Passes
There are several options for buying a monthly pass at municipal Resort Area garages.
Resort Residential & Employee Parking
Cars must have a permit or decal to park after 8 p.m. in the Residential Parking Permit Zone at the Oceanfront. There is also a parking permit program for employees of Resort Area businesses.
Seasonal Passes for Resort & Sandbridge Parking Lots
Seasonal parking permits allow for unlimited re-entry at municipal parking lots in the Resort Area. A separate seasonal pass is offered for the municipal parking lots in Sandbridge.
