Public Library
Virginia Beach Public Library has multiple locations, programs, and online resources to expand your mind.
Most Virginia Beach Public Library locations open at 10 a.m. Monday through Saturday, except for the Joint-Use Library at Tidewater Community College, the Wahab Public Law Library at the Virginia Beach Judicial Center, and the Pungo-Blackwater Library, which is closed on Fridays. Each of the City's 10 libraries offers a variety of services for young and old alike. Find the one nearest you.
Whether in person, digital or on-demand, Virginia Beach's libraries offer a little something for everyone. There are age-specific storytimes for children, escape room challenges for teens, computer literacy classes for adults and so much more. Sign up for lifelong learning opportunities.
Virginia Beach Public Library resources are available at your fingertips when you sign up for an account. It's free for Virginia Beach residents and with it you can renew checked out items, change or suspend holds, pay fines and fees, get internet access to the library's public computers and printers, stream music and movies, read e-books and magazines, and much more.
Library volunteers share their time and talents in many ways, from partnering with staff on a short-term or weekly basis to running the Friends of the Virginia Beach Library Book Shop and sorting books. Donations to the nonprofit Virginia Beach Library Foundation are another way to help. Find out how you can support your local library.
