Celebrate the Fourth of July in Virginia Beach

Fireworks are scheduled for Mount Trashmore and the Virginia Beach Oceanfront

Celebrations are back, and Virginia Beach is getting ready for the Fourth of July holiday with free fun and fireworks at Mount Trashmore and the Oceanfront. Note there are no rain dates scheduled for either location.

July 4th Celebration at Mount Trashmore
Sunday, July 4 – NO RAIN DATE

  • Event begins at 8 p.m. (DJ music only – no live music, no children's activities)
  • Fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m. (approximately 15-minute show)
  • A limited number of food vendors will be on-site
  • Parking is FREE but limited – attendants will monitor the lots and close them and Edwin Drive once they are full. Consider using rideshare, carpooling or alternative transportation (walking or bicycling)

Stars & Stripes Celebration at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront
Sunday, July 4 – NO RAIN DATE

Live performances on oceanfront stages will attract thousands of visitors and residents of Virginia Beach to a "star-spangled" salute at the Stars & Stripes Celebration.

Live! On Atlantic | 7 – 11 p.m.
Live musical and family-friendly novelty entertainment along Atlantic Avenue between 17th and 25th streets

17th Street Park | 7 – 11 p.m.
Enjoy a nostalgic musical trip with Chester B's Tribute to Motown

24th Street Stage on the Beach | 7:30 – 9:30 p.m.
A July 4th Celebration featuring pop, classical, Broadway and patriotic musical performances by the Tidewater Winds Concert Band, one of the country's few professional, nonprofit concert bands performing repertoire ranging from Sousa marches to big band.

FIREWORKS at 9:30 p.m.
Note that rough seas may impact the ability to hold the fireworks show. A cancellation of the show at the Oceanfront does not necessarily mean a cancellation for Mount Trashmore. Tune in to news and weather updates ahead of the celebration.
