Register for BankOn Hampton Roads Financial Empowerment Classes

Tired of living paycheck to paycheck? BankOn Can Help. Free financial empowerment classes begin February 2023.

Family taking financial empowerment classes

BankOn Hampton Roads is a regional partnership of participating municipalities, banks, credit unions and community organizations, coordinated through the Virginia Beach Department of Human Services, designed to connect unbanked and under-banked families to free or low-cost bank accounts and other resources leading to financial freedom.

Through a series of monthly, two-hour classes, the program will provide attendees the opportunity to learn the skills needed to achieve greater financial freedom and independence. Participants in the five-month program are expected to attend one virtual class per month and work one-on-one with a personal financial coach. In addition to learning the basics of banking and money management, participants will learn strategies to overcome paycheck-to-paycheck living, reduce debt, increase savings, build a credit score, develop a budget and protect assets.
